    Driving Directions to the Hotel

    Starting Point  From Airport: Take Washington Blvd. East to Northcrest Drive. At traffic light turn right on Northcrest Drive. Northcrest Drive will meet Hwy. 101. Keep driving South and you will see Denny's Restaurant. Travelodge is next to Denny's.

    Starting Point  From the North: US Highway 101 Southbound, on the left you can see Travelodge, located between 3rd & 4th Streets right next to Denny's Restaurant.

    Starting Point  From the South: Drive on US 101 Northbound, you will see KFC Restaurant and Taco Bell. Turn left after Taco Bell and you will drive up to the Travelodge.

    Starting Point  From the East: Hwy. 199 will run into Hwy. 101. Entering the city you can see Denny's Restaurant and Travelodge will be next to Denny's.

    Starting Point  From the West: The Pacific Ocean is on the west side of Crescent City.

    General Information: The world's tallest trees, rugged coastline, and scenic rivers combine to make Crescent City one of the nations most enchanting areas.     Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park: Hours: Open all hours. - Stroll through magnificent groves and lose yourself in the serenity of these ancient giant trees when you visit Redwoods Park- the setting in the Star Wars saga, Return of the Jedi.

    Howland Hill Road & Stout Grove: Hours: All Hours - Exceptionally beautiful drive, which follows the historic stage coach route to Oregon, which leads you to an outstanding grove of old growth redwoods. There you will find the 340 foot Stout Tree, one of the tallest in the park.

    Battery Point Lighthouse: Foot of A Street - Crescent City, CA 95531 - (707) 464-3089 - Hours: Only at Low Tides 10am-4pm - Built in 1856, this historic lighthouse sits on a small island 100 feet off shore. It is accessible only by foot - and only at low tide. Guided tours available Wednesday-Sunday, April-September.

    Historical Society Museum: 577 H Street - Crescent City, CA 95531 - (707) 464-3922 - An excellent museum which features local Tolowa and Yurok Indian artifacts, mining and logging equipment, including a research facility. A special highlight is the original Fresnel Lens from the Point St. George Lighthouse.

    Marine Mammal Center: 424 Howe Drive (Front St.) - Crescent City, CA 95531 - (707) 465-6265 - One of only three Marine Mammal Rescue and Rehabilitation Centers in California. Observe seals and sea lions during self-guided tours.

    Elk Valley Casino: 2500 Howland Hill Road - Crescent City, CA 95531 - (707) 464-1020 - Hours: All hours - High Stakes Indian gaming is available 24 hours a day at the casino. Try your luck at the video slots, video poker, Elk Valley 21 and poker in a setting unmatched by other Casinos. Located on Howland Hill Road, on your way to the Redwood Forests.

    Ocean World: 304 Hwy. 101 S. - Crescent City, CA 95531 - (707) 464-4900 - Hours: 8am-8pm - Journey beneath the sea on a guided tour of Northwest marine life. Touch a starfish, pet a live shark, enjoy performing sea lions and visit the unique gift shop.

    Lake Earl Wildlife Area: Lake Earl Drive - Crescent City, CA 95531 - Hours: All hours - The marshes, dunes and lakes of this 5,000 acre State Park provide various habitats for more than 250 species of birds. Hiking trails offer excellent vantage points for bird watching.

    Tour-Thru Tree: Terwer Valley Exit - Klamath - Drive, bike, or walk through this 700 year old living Redwood tree. Take the Terwer Valley exit from Highway 101 at Klamath.

    Trees of Mystery: 15500 Hwy. 101 S. - Klamath - (707) 482-2251 - Hours: 8am-8pm - A "Super" Natural experience, featuring a forest tour and the largest gift shop in the Northwest. Of special note is the superb collection of North American Indian artifacts and crafts in the free end of the Trail Museum.

    Klamath River Jet Boat Tours: 17635 Hwy. 101 S. - Klamath - (707) 482-7775 - Exciting 50-mile ride up the Klamath River. Observe bountiful wildlife and learn about local Native American history.

    Local Recreation & Fun Things To Do Nearby

    Fishing: Ocean Charters are available for salmon, snapper and ling cod. Both the Smith and Klamath Rivers are World Famous for Chinese Salmon, Steelhead and Cutthroat Trout.

    Kayaking/ White Water Rafting: Smith River's emerald waters and soaring canyon walls comprise one of the largest wild and scenic River Systems in the United States. This spectacular river is the heart of the Smith River National Recreation Area, a 305,000 acre region offering easy access to water sports.

    Golfing: Del Norte Golf Club, along Smith River north of Crescent City, is a small but challenging course. Several small streams and a couple of gullies come into play on the 9-hole course, which can be played as an 18-hole course. Also located near Crescent City is the Kings Valley Golf Club, a 9-hole three par course that provides challenging practice for the short game. Crescent City also has a covered driving range.

    Beach Activities: Crescent City is a Coastal town with the Pacific Coast at it's doorsteps. Various beautiful beaches allows one to enjoy the following activities: Tide Pooling, Beachcombing, Agate Hunting, Calming, Sailing, Kite Flying, and Whale Watching. Our safe commercial and recreational harbor has facilities to enjoy sailing and fishing, as well as Whale watching from various view points.

    Hiking Trails/ Mountain Biking: Redwoods National Headquarters, Crescent City Chamber of Commerce, will provide all the current information and list of trails.

    Surfing/ Wind Surfing: Access to beaches makes it easy to surf. Join in the fun at our Annual Noll's Long Board Classic, held in the first week of October. Winding Surfing is also carried out at Lake Earl.

    Bowling: 760 L Street - Crescent City, CA 95531 - Crescent Lanes is located just two miles North of the Motel.
